Welcome to my little baking corner!

I'm a self-taught home baker who bakes for fun. I started baking as a hobby a few years ago, and it quickly turned into a passion.

Friends have often told me I should set up a little business because they love my bakes. While I'm flattered by their praise, I'm content with baking as a hobby for now. I work full-time delivering HR Transformation and Change projects that are very demanding, fast-paced, and often very stressful. Not all change is easy, right? Baking has become a stress-release mechanism for me, a way to unwind and channel my creativity.

In my day job, I work with a lot of amazing people who inspire me to be my best self. As a way of saying thank you for being a part of my journey or to celebrate a successful project, I like to bake for them. It brings me joy to share my creations with others and see their faces light up with smiles when they see what I've made just for them. And I love the challenge of creating something bespoke for my friends and colleagues.

I don't have the formal training or experience of a professional pastry chef but I'm always eager to learn new techniques and I'm dedicated to putting my best effort into every creation. Whether it's a bespoke cake for a special occasion like a big bang go-live, a friend's birthday, or a batch of cookies to share at the office to celebrate little project milestones I pour my heart and soul into every creation.

My cakes & bakes

Novelty Cakes

Novelty cakes offer me an opportunity to explore new techniques and designs. Each cake presents a new challenge, whether it's incorporating a specific theme or design, or using unusual ingredients or techniques.

Blue Caterpillar cake

I made this cake for my daughter's 16th birthday.

Graduation Cake

I made this cake for my son's graduation. The books and globe are all cake and a mouse standing on the globe symbolizes being on top of the world. Each book marks a stage leading to graduation and references his favorite Marvel series.

Surfing cake

I baked this cake for my son, who is a keen surfer. The cake is shaped like a wave, with a surfer riding on top. Every part of the cake is edible, making it a delicious and fun nod to his favorite hobby.

Jellyfish cake

I made this cake for my husband's birthday, and it was a real challenge! The jellyfish is all isomalt, and diving into that stuff was like entering a whole new world of cake-making. Honestly, if it wasn't for my husband's special day, I might've thrown in the towel halfway through!

Ice bath cake

The ice bath cake was specially baked to celebrate 27th birthday of a gym's co-owner. The birthday coincided with the gym opening a new recovery studio featuring an ice bath.

Minion cake

I have made this cake for someone who personifies boundless energy and relentless positivity. The Minion is edging his way across a narrow beam over a shark infested river to reach his goal - a Blackpool Football t-shirt, which is a nod to their town of origin.

Dragon Cake

This dragon cake was specially made for a personal trainer who recently started running a calisthenics class. The cake features a dragon as the centrepiece, representing the coach's standards he is expecting whether it is a simple push up or a handstand. Surrounding the dragon are little figures - the  pupils, each one eager to learn and improve their fitness levels.

Wheel barrow cake

I made this cake for my mother-in-law's birthday as she is a keen gardener. The base of the barrow is wood with a wheel made from jam jar lids. The main body is a Victoria sandwich with fondant sides airbrushed for a wood effect with piped flowers on top.

Rabbit cake

This cake was specially made to celebrate a joint birthday that coincided with the Easter holiday. To capture the spirit of Easter, I made a rabbit and put it atop a bed of green frosting, representing a grassy meadow. This rabbit is my first freestanding figure and took me ages to make it!

Flower pot cake

This Mother's Day, my husband wanted to show their appreciation for their mother, who is an avid gardener.

EY Onboarding project cake

I made this cake to celebrate the successful go-live of the project at EY. The cake features two tiers that symbolise the key aspects of the project. The first tier represents the implementation of a core HR system and the second tier represents the Onboarding project that I managed, featuring the names of all the team members who worked tirelessly to make it a success. The cake is designed with a superhero theme because everyone on the team is a big fan of superhero movies.

Burger cake

I made this cake for my daughter who likes burgers and has a very sweet tooth. Why choose when you can have both!

Teapot cake

This cake was specially made for my mother-in-law and designed in the shape of a classic teapot.

Boxing glove cake

This cake was specially made as a thank you. Luke specializes in boxing so this cake was a way to acknowledge his  commitment to boxing.

This cake was created for someone who is training to master the handstand

Handstand cake

I made this cake for a friend who is training to master the handstand.  The cake's design reflects our previous discussion on which animal would excel in calisthenics, with the monkey agreed to being the best option. This cake was made to encourage and support her fitness goals.

Panda cake

Making this cake was so much fun! It was created to celebrate my friend Kat's birthday. Kat is a personal trainer who loves pandas. The cake is designed in the shape of a panda doing a pull-up on a bar, representing Kat's fitness goal of achieving a 50kg weighted pull-up.

Strawberry cake

This cake was made especially for my daughter's birthday, who has a very sweet tooth and loves all things sugary. Ironically, at the time, she had declared that she would never eat strawberries, but I was determined to change her mind. So, I decided to create a cake in the shape of a giant strawberry, and it turned out to be the perfect way to win her over.

Book club cake

A special cake for a special lady whose friends wanted to surprise her with this cake. It does feel like a proper book club with all that food and wine. And what would life be without one!

Wine bottle cake

It might be one of the first 3D cakes I have made. I made it for my son's 18th birthday. The box is made to look like vintage wood and is filled with roasted coconut shavings. The bottle is a mint chocolate cake, cased in modeling chocolate and topped with a personalized wine label.

Book cake

It might be the first 3D cake I have ever made. It was to mark my son's graduation from school.

Boxing ring cake

Following on from Luke's boxing glove cake (somewhere above), for his birthday cake I continued with a boxing theme. This time I was focusing on a boxing ring and tried to make it look more real by using miniature ropes.

Nike trainer cake

This birthday theme was a request by someone who is a big trainer fan. The Nike box and the shoe are both real cakes with different flavours.  The box is a cookie dough flavour and the shoe is fererro rocher. The box has been air brushed to create a more shiny effect and the shoe left as plain fondant to look more like leather.

Traditional Cakes

While novelty cakes allow me to experiment with new designs and techniques, I also appreciate the beauty and timelessness of traditional cake designs. I find that traditional cakes can be just as challenging and rewarding to make as novelty cakes, as they require a mastery of classic techniques.

Russian Honey cake

This simple and traditional honey cake was made with no special occasion in mind, but because my son likes this cake and I wanted to sweeten his day.

Strawberry Lemonade cake

I baked this cake for my mother-in-law's birthday. I tried a new lemon sponge recipe (it came out really well!) and made a strawberry reduction. It is the first time I tried the chocolate border to decorate the cake - there are lessons learned there but the cake came out really well.

Flower cake

I made this cake as a practice to improve my piping skills for creating beautiful flowers to sit on top of cakes.

Birthday cake

Although this birthday cake may look simple, it actually required me to learn several new techniques at the beginning of my baking journey.

My Melody cake

This vintage-style cake was specially made to celebrate my daughter's birthday, who loves the adorable My Melody.

70th Birthday cake

For this cake, I've decided to try piping different flowers and techniques.  I like how vibrant and full the composition came out.

Cake in a box

On the day of delivery, the scorching heat could have melted the flowers on the cake. To prevent this, I decided to present the cake in a hat box because it is sturdy enough to keep the blocks of ice on top of the lid as well as around the box during transport. It was a great relief to see the cake arrive in perfect condition.

Flower cake

Practice makes perfect, and this cake was an opportunity for me to improve my piping skills by creating a bouquet of piped chrysanthemums.

Birthday cake

This might be the cake that started me on my baking adventure.  Although it may appear simple, it took me a considerable amount of time and effort to make it presentable for my daughter's birthday.

Cupcakes & Cookies

I love the versatility of cupcakes and cookies. They're small enough to be enjoyed as a quick snack or dessert, and they can be decorated in countless ways to fit any occasion or theme. Plus, they're perfect for sharing with friends and family, making them the ultimate crowd-pleaser.

Christmas Gnomes cookies

Wedding cookies

Cartoon-style cookies for a bride who is a graphic designer. It is still challenging for me to pipe directly onto the cookies, but I am getting better at it.

Fruit Sugar cookies

I made these cookies for a client as a little thank you for all their help.

A family cookies

These cookies were made for a family to represent professions or hobbies that people have in real life.

Burger cookies

These burger-shaped cookies were made to make a lunch and learn session a bit more fun. (and they proved to be a success too!)

Mr Steak cookies

I made these cookies for the owner of a lovely steak restaurant in Hammersmith. He always ensures that you have a great meal and a fantastic atmosphere when you visit, so I wanted to show my appreciation for his efforts.

IHS Towers cookies

A few cookies for one of my clients to celebrate Christmas. In this case, I experimented with making letter transfers  as freehand piping is not fully mastered yet.

Project go-live cookies

A few cookies to share with colleagues to celebrate a successful project go-live! Airbrushing needs some refinement ..

Dinosaur cookies

I made these cookies for my friends. They are expecting their first baby girl who they lovingly nicknamed "Dinosaur".

You are the best!

Sugar cookies

These cookies mark my first attempt at cookie decoration. I had to learn to make my own royal icing and ensure the cookies held their shape, among other techniques. There is a long journey ahead and I am looking forward to it!

Thank you cookies

I enjoy baking a batch of cookies as a heartfelt gesture to express my gratitude to my team. It's important to me that they understand how much I appreciate their efforts, and I truly cherish the way it never fails to bring a smile to their faces.

Thank you cookies - 2

Another batch of thank you cookies made for my colleagues.

Chocolate cookies

These chocolate cookies have become a family favourite and are the go-to option for school bake sales or family gatherings.

Revival cookies

Get well soon

These cookies are infused with heartfelt wishes for a swift recovery, aiming to brighten someone's day and contribute to a speedier healing process.

Oreo cupcakes

These OREO cupcakes are always a hit at school bake sales! They're extra special because they have a hidden OREO cookie inside, adding a delicious surprise to every bite.

Chocolate chip cookies

These cookies were an experimental batch aimed at exploring how different techniques can impact the final product. Although not all of them turned out perfectly shaped, it didn't affect the taste, which was still delicious.
